Crappy Smoke Alarms

Ok, so the title is misleading. If you are thinking my house caught fire or burned down or something, well, no, it didn't. The title implies that but this is just sorta more complaining.
  So a few nights back I was up at maybe 2 AM or so drawing,  and suddenly, the smoke alarms in the house go off. And I get really scared for a sec, and run into the hall, then I realize they do this every so often. Mostly because (according to my dad and bro) because the batteries need to be replaced (well why would that make it go off?) or are dead. (How can they go off with nothing to power them???) Or they're messed up for some other reason. I don't know. I DON'T UNDERSTAND SMOKE ALARMS.
  Anyways, it's happened. Usually about once a month. Except instead, the last time was only a few nights ago. So my dad shuts them off or does whatever. I go back to drawing, my bro goes back to his phone, and my parents go back to bed. Then they go off again like half an hour later. Another round of covering my ears from the terrible screechy noise and waiting for them to get turned off.
  And it ends up for the rest of the night they keep going off every 20 minutes, which was annoying as hell, because once I was in bed I kept getting woken up every 20 minutes and got barely any sleep. What's worse was that eventually for some reason they got very hard to stop or shut off, so sometimes they went on for five or ten minutes straight and my ears felt like they were dying. Plus I wonder what the neighbors thought of all the noise. I mean, they're loud, and can wake you up really easily. I wouldn't be surprised if the people next door woke up from them.

  Welp that's my little rant. They haven't been going off the last few days (I don't know if my dad took out the batteries or what) but anyways, yeah.

Some other stuff:
I go back to school August 25th. And I still don't have summer work for my AP Chem class done. Matter of fact I don't know how to do much of it. I can't remember anything from my chem class two years back.
I got Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask. It was on sale at Gamestop for ten bucks. Now that's a steal. Paper Mario Sticker Star is also on sale for that price. Don't know how long it lasts, but though I'd say that in case anyone was interested in those games.
Yesterday I went back to school shopping but didn't get much. I actually sort of like it cause of looking at all the designs and stuff, but Target's was shit. Barely anything good. So I'm going to Walmart on Tuesday. But I did get a little composition book to use as an assignment journal that says: "Not a morning person." Which is sorta true. Not anytime before 9:00 AM.
Oh and also I tried playing Phoenix Wright for the first time and it's real fun. Although I'm an awful lawyer. My brother has to help me a lot. XD It's Trials and Tribulations, btw.
Imma go to bed now. It's 12:30.
